If you are planning to buy an LPG cylinder subsidy or you are already a customer here is important news for you! Reportedly, the central government might bring some big changes in the LPG Subsidy scheme, under the Ujjawal Yojana.
As per the reports, the Ministry of Petroleum has started work on two new structures and they would be announced soon. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced to give one crore new connections in the budget. Now, it is expected that the central government can change the advance payment models on the behalf of OMCs.

According to information received by Money Control sources, the advance payment company will charge a lump sum of Rs 1600. At present, OMCs charge the advance amount in the form of EMIs. The government will continue to give a subsidy of the remaining Rs 1600.
Under the government's Ujjwala scheme, a cylinder of 14.2 kg and a stove are given to the customers. The cost of the domestic cylinder is about Rs 3200. This amount is paid by the government and the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).
How one can register for an LPG connection:
- To register, you have to first fill a form and give it to the nearest LPG distributor.
- In this form, the woman who has applied will also have to give her full address, Jan Dhan bank account and the Aadhaar number of all family members.

- After processing it, the oil marketing companies of the country issue LPG connection to the eligible beneficiary.
- If a consumer opts for EMI, then the EMI amount is adjusted against the subsidy received on the cylinder.
