A kid missing for 2 days from Ludhiana in Punjab was found dead in a Canal early in the morning today. Based on the inputs associated with the case the deceased’s uncle killed the child over family matters.

Seven-year-old deceased Sahajpreet Singh with his uncle Swarna Singh went to Jalandhar bypass to get fruits but didn’t return. The latter was in police’s remand post investigation for over two days the matter came to light when he admitted his crime.

Upon his input Police retrieved the dead body of 7 years old deceased Sahajpreet. In a bizarre statement given to police, Swarna Singh said, the reason behind the murder was her mother calling him by the name of ‘Ramu. This was the reason that got over his head and he killed his nephew.

Police Commissioner Kaustubh Sharma said, “During our investigation, we have found several CCTV footages of the Uncle-Nephew duo. The murderer took Sahaj near Satluj from where footage close to Gurudwara has also come to light. The Police have retrieved the body from the canal.”

The family’s doubt of Uncle intensified when he kept silent when he was asked whereabouts of Sahaj. Cut to that a complaint was filed in the Police after which Swarna Singh was taken into police remand and a detailed investigation was launched in the entire episode.

Police while dealing with the press over the matter informed the killer Swarna Singh was mentally affected and had gone through operation 5 years back.

Police shared their own version of experience during 2 days of investigation saying place coming straight to the matter Swarna Singh lied time and again. Upon excessive pressurization, he finally admitted to pushing Sahaj into the canal.
