To ensure swift action against road accidents, traffic congestion, and petty crimes, the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police is integrating its Safe City camera network, wireless communication, District Control Centre, and 112 helpline operations into a unified command centre.
During an inspection of the Safe City camera network at Police Lines, Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma announced that consolidating these previously dispersed control units under one roof will significantly enhance operational efficiency. This restructuring will streamline coordination among staff, with additional personnel deployed and a detailed duty roster established. The integrated system will bring together traffic police in-charges, PCR teams, and control centre staff, fostering seamless collaboration.
Commissioner Sharma emphasized that this initiative aims to deliver immediate police intervention for emergencies, including road accidents, street crimes, protests, traffic disruptions, or other incidents.
This strategic overhaul underscores the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's commitment to bolstering public safety and ensuring prompt, effective responses to critical situations, he added.
