Two people died and four others were injured in a blast in
Ludhiana District Court on Thursday. An atmosphere of chaos erupts as many
people reached the Court. The police team and other officials also reached the
spot.
The blast took place in a washroom on the second floor near 12:15 pm. After the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that this blast might
have been executed by a human bomb. The deceased whose body was found in the
Court’s washroom was the prime suspect of the blast.
“The identity of a possible suspect, whose body was found at
the explosion site, is being ascertained.
4 persons injured are in stable condition. The bomb disposal squad is at the
site. The police are conducting a search at the Court complex. A team of NSG is also
coming here,” said Ludhiana CP, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
“An explosion was heard near the Record Room on the second
floor of the Ludhiana Court complex. One person died, two persons were injured
in the incident. Bomb disposal team and forensics team have been called from
Chandigarh for the probe. There is no need to panic,” he said earlier.
Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was already in Ludhiana when the blast took place. He will soon visit the site of blast to take account of the situation there.
Meanwhile, a high alert has been issued across Punjab. Punjab
Police have been instructed to tighten security at public places.
