On Friday, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra will be reaching Ludhiana. The Yatra will start from Doraha at 6 am and end at Samrala at 12 noon. Ludhiana Police has issued certain guidelines regarding the traffic and routes diverted due to the yatra. As per guidelines, all heavy Commercial Traffic coming from Delhi side towards Nawanshehar, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Jammu & Kashmir side will be diverted through Khanna, Samrala and Machhiwara via Nawan Shehar.
All heavy commercial traffic going towards Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Barnala and Bathinda side will be diverted through Doraha near Sidhu Hospital via Southern bypass via Tibba canal Bridge towards Verka milk Plant, Ferozepur Road. Along with this, all heavy commercial vehicles coming from Chandigarh for going towards Delhi side and Ferozepur side will be diverted through Neelon towards Doraha and the Southern bypass. All heavy commercial vehicles coming from Chandigarh for going towards Jalandhar, Amritsar & Gurdaspur side will be diverted to Samrala, Machhiwara, Nawanshahr.
Apart from this, all heavy commercial vehicles coming from Chandigarh for going towards Jalandhar, Amritsar & Gurdaspur side will be diverted to Samrala, Machhiwara, Rahon & Nawanshehar. All heavy commercial vehicles going towards Delhi & Chandigarh will be diverted through Southern Byepass via Doraha & Neelon.
Reportedly, all heavy commercial vehicles coming from the Chandigarh side and going towards Jalandhar, Amritsar, Nawanshehar will be diverted through Machhiwara & Rahon. All heavy commercial vehicles coming from Jalandhar & Amritsar Side and going towards Khanna, Delhi Chandigarh will be diverted through Rahon, Machhiwara, Samrala & Khanna. Lastly, all heavy commercial vehicles coming from Jalandhar & Amritsar Side and going towards Malerkotla, Khanna, Delhi & Chandigarh will be diverted through Southern Byepass to Verka Milk Plant, Tibba Canal Bridge to Doraha.
The Commissioner of Police has requested people to avoid the Doraha-Samrala highway in order to control the traffic amidst Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
For the unversed, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Punjab on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi first paid obeisance at the Gurdwara at Fatehgarh Sahib and addressed the gathering there. The security of Congress leader has been beefed up after receiving multiple threats from gangsters.
