Over a month after getting the second dose of coronavirus vaccine, Ludhiana's Commissioner of Police Rakesh Agrawal tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
Doctors said he had taken a second dose of Covishield on March 14.
Ludhiana Police Chief took to Facebook to share the news, in a long fb post, he wrote, “Having managed to keep COVID 19 away from me for more than one year, there was no guarantee that it won’t bother me”.
He continued writing, “Till the post dinner walk on 17th April, I had no clue what the next day would be like. But on 18th April 2021 I woke up with body-ache, heavy head and when I tested, the temperature was 101”.
“So I called for rapid antigen and RT-PCR. I was positive in rapid test and then in RT PCR, so began the treatment. I request all those who have come in contact with me in last 7 days to isolate themselves and get themselves tested”, Agrawal said.
He added that “Since I have taken both the vaccination doses so I presume that I should be much better than the rest. Doctors have prescribed me some basic medicines. I am in home isolation and Hope to be alright soon”.
He further said that CP office, the govt building where he operates from has the highest hygiene and sanitation standards. “Still I could not escape”, he said.
He appealed to the public to not to ignore health. This virus is contracting much faster and sooner than we imagined. Shut yourself inside as much as you can at least this April 2021. Together we will bounce back again.
