In Ludhiana's DMC hospital, a woman has committed suicide. The woman died after taking some toxic substances. It is being said that the woman's husband was admitted to the hospital after suffering a brain stroke the last month. She was very upset because of this. It had become a big problem for her to bear the hospital expenses.
The deceased woman has been identified as Kulveer Kaur, a resident of village Vadala, Phillaur. Kulveer Kaur's husband Santokh Singh had a brain stroke a month ago. The hospital expenses were so high that she was unable to cover them.
Her husband's condition was also not improving. Due to this, she swallowed some poisonous material. When her condition started deteriorating, relatives admitted her to the hospital, but she died.

The body has been sent to the civil hospital for a postmortem. According to ASI Naveen Kumar, who is looking into the matter, the police have discovered that the woman consumed some poisonous substance next to the hospital's water cooler since she couldn't afford to pay for her husband's medical care. As the condition worsened, the woman collapsed. She was treated by hospital doctors, but she was not able to be saved.
