India witnessed another proud moment as Ludhiana-born Raisin Saini bagged the title of Miss Bharat New York on Monday. The beauty pageant was organized by Maydream TV Channel USA and the national-level competition will be held in December in Atlanta and will be judged by famous celebrities. Granddaughter of retired teacher Vijay Laxmi and businessman Tilak Raj Sachdeva, Raisin went to the United States to pursue higher education in medical science and reportedly serves as a dental surgeon now.
Raisin’s main aim is to use the platform, not for herself but to give it back to society. She aims to spread awareness about oral cancer, especially in the rural areas of Punjab, the place where she belongs to. She further wants to spread awareness about prohibiting the use of smokeless tobacco among Indians because of the risk of oral cancer. Miss Bharat New York intends to open a dental clinic in the future where patients can be screened for oral cancer for free and have other dental needs taken care of.
Talking about their achievements, Raisin Saini was crowned winner of the competition by none other than Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu herself. Furthermore, Saini was the first runner-up in the Miss World 2021 competition and was also chosen as the Beauty with a Purpose Ambassador.
Saini walked for famous Indian designers Archana Kochhar and Anaya collection during New York Fashion Week, held at the hall of mirrors in New York City, USA. For the unversed, the Ludhiana-born model is not only a model but also an actress, dancer, and social media influencer currently living in Manhattan, New York.
Another great news is that Raisin Saini will be seen in a music cover video with the T series and it is being choreographed by a known Bollywood choreographer Amrita Maitra.
