Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste's attempt to promote local business and small hawkers backfired when he came under the scanner of social media. A video of Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste is doing rounds on social media in which he can be seen bargaining with a hawker over the price of corn. Interestingly, Union Minister of State for Steel and Panchayat and Rural Development, Faggan Singh Kulaste shared the video on his Twitter handle in a bid to get positive reviews and promote small businesses. However, Madhya Pradesh Minister Viral Video backfired when netizens started reminding him of the hiked GST by the Central government.
In the Faggan Singh Kulaste viral video, the Union Minister was seen arguing and bargaining with the street vendor over the price of corn. When the Union Minister was on his way to his constituency Mandla, he decided to stop and buy corn from a street vendor. Kulaste talked to the young boy selling corn. When Kulaste asked the price of three corns, he was shocked when the young boy told him that it will cost Rs 45 meaning Rs. 15 for each corn. On this, the Union Minister started schooling the shopkeeper and even said that the price is "very expensive" and it is "available for free" to which the boy said that he himself purchased it for Rs 5 each. Later, after paying the price, the Minister took off.

Faggan Singh Kulaste shared the video on his Twitter handle saying, 'Today going from Seoni to Mandla. Taste the local corn. We all should buy food items from our local farmers and small shopkeepers. Due to this, they will get employment and we will get adulterated goods."

Netizens remind Union Minister of 'GST' hike
As soon as Faggan Kulaste's video went viral, netizens slammed the Union Minister and reminded him of the rising inflation and continuous GST hike by the Central government.
Centre under scanner on GST over packed food
The Central government has been facing criticism by the opposition parties over rising inflation GST on packed food items in the Parliament. It is pertinent to mention here that the Central government announced a hike in GST rates during the 47th GST Council meeting held in June. As a part of that, GST rates were hiked by 5% on pre-packaged and labelled food items such as cereals, pulses, and flour weighing less than 25 kg. In addition to that, commodities measured in litres have been limited to 25 litres.
