Brampton Maharaja Ranjit Singh statue: In a blood-boiling incident, Pro Palestine protestors recently defaced Maharaja Ranjit Singh's statue in Canada's Brampton. The protestors even put the flag of Palestine on the statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. In the viral video, two men in masks can be seen standing on Maharaja Ranjit Singh's statue. While one is carrying a Palestinian flag, another person was seen tying a cloth on the horse of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Many people have also made a video of the entire incident. As per reports, the matter has been informed to the Peel Police of Canada. Now it is being investigated by the Canadian police. At present, no statement has been issued on the matter.

For the unversed, Maharaja Ranjit Singh is a very big face of Indian and Sikh history. Maharaja Ranjit Singh was born on 13 November 1780 in Gujranwala, Punjab (now in Pakistan). Maharaja Ranjit Singh fought his first war when he was just ten years old. He took over the throne at the age of 12 and conquered Lahore at the age of 18. During his reign of 40 years, he did not allow the British to wander even near his empire.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh was just 12 years old when his father died. The responsibilities of the throne fell on his shoulders at a young age. But his coronation happened when he was 20 years old. Ranjit Singh was crowned as the Maharaja of Punjab on 12 April 1801.

After the coronation, in 1802, he annexed Amritsar to his empire, and in 1807, he defeated the Afghan ruler Qutbuddin and won Kasur. He won Multan in 1818 and Kashmir in 1819. However, Maharaja Ranjit Singh died on June 27, 1839.
