In view of the Punjab Assembly elections, the government may make major administrative changes in a day or two.
The officers who have been sitting in the same post for more than three years are being shifted, which has been approved by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. The biggest blow will fall on the Sub Divisional Officers as all these officers are Returning Officers in the Assembly elections. Apart from this, the officers who are sitting in their respective home districts and are directly involved in the election process will also be replaced.
Apart from Sub Divisional Officers, Deputy Commissioners of some districts have also been reported to be transferred. The Chief Minister asked the Personnel Department to prepare its lists and there was a strong possibility of a major administrative reshuffle this week.
It was learned that the Personnel Department had also prepared the lists and sent the same to the Chief Minister's Office.
