Major cyber fraud busted by Jalandhar police: ₹24 lakh, 14 mobile phones, 43 ATM cards recovered; 3 arrested

In a major breakthrough, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar apprehended a group of three individuals involved in a large-scale cyber fraud. The police recovered ₹24 lakh cash, 14 mobile phones, one laptop, 19 bank passbooks, and 43 ATM cards from the accused.

Divulging the details, CP Jalandhar said that a team from Police Station Navi Baradari received a tip-off about the presence of a cyber fraud gang at Hotel M-1 in Jalandhar. Acting swiftly on the information, the police conducted a raid at the location and successfully apprehended three suspects.

The arrested individuals have been identified as: Varun Anchal son of Tarlok Chand resident of H.No. 466, Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, Jalandhar , Anil son of Brij Mohan resident of H.No. 458, Madhuban Colony, Jalandhar  and Dudhagara Rimpal son of Vallabh Bhai resident of Morbi Road, Rajkot, Gujarat

During the search, police seized ₹24 lakh Indian rupees, 14 mobile phones, a laptop, 19 bank passbooks in different names, and 43 ATM cards believed to have been used for fraudulent activities.

She said that the accused were produced before the Hon’ble Court, and the police have obtained a three-day remand for further interrogation. Investigations are ongoing to trace the forward and backward linkages of the cyber fraud network.
