Team India speedster Mohammed Shami is on the road to recovery and is expected to be fully fit during the upcoming India Tour of Australia i.e. Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After the Cricket World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami successfully underwent surgery on February 26th, 2024, for his right heel problem. Ever since then the star speedster has been away from cricket. In the meantime, Shami broke the internet after multiple posts & claims went viral on social media linking his name to top Tennis sensation Sania Mirza. A post went viral on Reddit saying that Mohammed Shami will be marrying Sania Mirza at the end of 2024. However, Sania Mirza's father in an interview with a news portal denied these claims saying that his daughter does not even know the Team India star or met him personally.
Now, Mohammed Shami's reaction to his marriage rumors with Sania Mirza has finally arrived. In a podcast with Subhankar Mishra, Mohammed Shami warned the meme pages and unverified social media users of posting fake claims. Shami said, "It is strange only. Whenever I open my phone, such post flashes on social media. No one should be dragged like this. I understand that memes are for humor. But if it is related to someone's life you should make it carefully. Your page is not verified and you are known. Therefore, you can say anything you want. I want to ask if you have the guts to publish such posts from verified accounts."
Before Shami, Sania's father Imran Mirza denied that his daughter is marrying Mohammed Shami. Not only this, Imran Mirza stated that Sania never even met Mohammed Shami on or off the field. "This is all rubbish. She hasn't even met him," said Imran Mirza as quoted by a news portal.
