Days after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee and other party workers were attacked in Tripura, the TMC supremo today pointed fingers at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for staging the attack.
Ms Banerjee claimed that Amit Shah directed an attack on her nephew and TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, and other party members and that she will not be intimidated by such acts.
"The BJP is running an anarchic government in Tripura, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, and anywhere else they are in power," Mamata Banerjee said after visiting injured TMC workers at the state-run SSKM hospital in Kolkata.
Some TMC members of the Tripura group were allegedly injured after being attacked by members of the ruling BJP, according to Trinamool.
Reportedly, on August 7 the ruling BJP attacked TMC convoys' car and a party office, injuring at least seven of its members and supporters. Abhishek Banerjee was in Tripura for a meeting with TMC state leaders and to plan for the party's expansion ahead of the state's 2023 assembly elections.

“Sudip and Jaya are students who went to Tripura, they were attacked and their heads were bashed in. Astonishing that everything happened in front of police and no medical attention was provided. Then they were arrested. Not a glass of water was given,” claimed CM Banerjee.
Mamata Banerjee, who called the BJP a "monstrous party," said she would not be frightened by the attacks. She further said that TMC employees were being targeted in broad daylight in states where the saffron party is in power, but that the police and government did nothing to stop it.
Abhishek Banerjee too has launched an attack on the BJP, saying, "The goons of BJP Tripura have shown their true colours! This barbaric attack on Trinamool workers reveals the 'goonda raj' in Tripura under BJP Biplab's govt!"
“Your threats and attacks only prove your inhumanity. Do what you can. Trinamool will not budge an inch,” he added.
