Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has gotten harsh on the Bharatiya Janata Party after its prominent leaders alleged TMC for post-poll violence on May 2.
The scenes of violence emerged on the day of Assembly Elections Result declaration on May 2 in which Mamata Banerjee led TMC made a landslide victory against BJP by securing 213 seats of 292 contested.
Refuting the allegations and the circulation of the old violent videos on social media, CM Banerjee said, “no such incidents will be tolerated.”
She further added that there are more disturbances in places where BJP has won the elections.
“BJP is circulating about fake incidents through old videos. My appeal to all political parties is to stop this. You all have done a lot during elections. Bengal is a place of unity,” CM issued an appeal.

It may be noted here Mamata Banerjee on May 5 has sworn in as the third-time Chief Minister of WB at Raj Bhavan. She has asserted that she will sternly tackle the law and order situation across the state and the post-poll violence perpetrators will get respite.
On the flip side, the BJP has termed political killings in WB as state-sponsored killings. It has also been claimed by the party officials that TMC goons set their Hooghly district office on fire on May 2.
Meanwhile, BJP national chief JP Nadda is in WB to take stock of the situation and has claimed that 11 people were killed in the past few days by TMC goons.
