The NCB's probe is expected to widen more after Sushant's talent manager Jaya Shahatook the name of national awardee film-maker Madhu Mantena. The NCB also accessed her WhatsApp chats in which she was found to be supplying drugs to various Bollywood superstars including Deepika Padukone.

While Deepika Padukone manager Karishma Prakash has already been summoned by the NCB, it is expected the ace actress to be summoned soon. However, Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa brought up the drug connection of Bollywood a year earlier when a video of Karan Johar's house party went viral.

Sirsa had written to the Mumbai Police Commissioner however, no actions were taken. This time the Sirsa yet again gave a written complaint to the NCB Chief Rakesh Asthana but this time his complaint was accepted by the agency. Interestingly, Deepika Padukone was also present in the Karan Johar's video.

After the recent developments, Sirsa in an interview said that if the Mumbai Police had taken his complaint seriously in 2019 then the drug cartels would not have reached this far. There is a very big nexus between Bollywood and the drug mafia. The earlier it is uprooted, the better it is for the film industry and for our country as a whole.

On the narrative that Bollywood stars are getting targeted under an agenda, Sirsa said that nobody is targeting them, it only their fear which is ranting. An accused prepare his/her defense even before being proved guilty. I don't think any media have tried to target any Bollywood stars. On the other hand, no Bollywood actors voiced that not entire Punjab is in drugs when Udta Punjab released but now they are saying the Bollywood is getting vilified.
