Despite being present in the assembly, Shiromani Akali Dal and BSP alliance MLAs did not vote against the motion of confidence. Manpreet Singh Ayali, an Akali MLA, criticized this proposal as being unnecessary during the debate. BJP MLAs did not come to the house since Monday morning. Sheetal Angural, a Jalandhar-based Aam Aadmi Party MLA, raised "BJP Murdabad" during the discussion on the confidence vote.
