Teri Mitti of Kesari has been in the news for all the wrong reasons in the previous few days. Some individuals alleged on social media that the song was plagiarised from a Pakistani song published in 2005. Manoj Muntashir, songwriter and lyricist, offers some thoughts on this matter.

Apart from Kesari's blockbluster Teri Mitti, Manoj's other work has been the subject of accusations. His work, which includes poetry and songs, is alleged to have been plagiarised. Manoj has responded to all of the charges and explained why he has been targeted.

“Those making these allegations should please examine the video which was posted several months after the premiere of our film, ‘Kesari,'” Manoj Muntashir told to a leading daily.  And, for your knowledge, the vocalist is our very own Indian folk artist Geeta Rabari, not a Pakistani. You may also call her and inquire.”

“People are targeting me because of the video I did on the Mughals, where I used strong terms against them, referring to them as glorified dacoits,” Manoj Muntashir stated when questioned about plagiarism allegations against his work.

“If it is proven that Teri Mitti is a copy of any song in the world, I will stop writing forever,” the famous songwriter said in a frustration.
Manoj Muntashir has been making headlines in recent months for his Mughal history videos. One group of internet users has thrown their support behind him. Others have chastised him for upsetting the peace between Hindus and Muslims.

“If my YouTube videos and retelling of true history offends someone, they are very welcome to argue with me,” Manoj remarked at the end of his interview. But don't disrespect a song that has become a national anthem for the soldiers. It's simply unacceptable.”
