'Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea' ('Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham'), Mohanlal's National Award-winning film, and Dulquer Salmaan's 'Kurup' have both obtained a digital distribution just weeks after their theatrical releases.

On December 2, Mohanlal's period epic was the main UAE National Day release. The film, which was directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Antony Perumbavoor, will be accessible on Amazon Prime Video on December 17 in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The film is set in the 16th century and tells the narrative of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval commander of the Zamorin of Calicut, who was notable for defending the Malabar Coast against the Portuguese invasion. It is distributed in the area by UAE-based Phars Films. Keerthy Suresh and Suneil Shetty are in crucial roles.
Kurup, directed by Dulquer Salmaan and released in November, is now available to view on Netflix. The film was supposed to be released on December 17, but the platform pushed it back. Kurup is a biographical criminal thriller based on the story of Sukumara Kurup, Kerala's most wanted fugitive.

The film grossed Rs 50 crore from international ticket sales within three days of its release, giving Dulquer a career-best start.
