A massive fire broke out in the UMA Sports Factory near the Leather Complex in Jalandhar. In the fire dozens of employees were present in the factory who were fortunately rescued. There is panic in the entire area due to the fire. Dozens of fire brigade personnel are actively trying to control the fire.
According to information recieved, welding work was going on in the upper part of the factory. During this time, there is a possibility of fire being caused by the welder’s spark. At present the fire brigade has not given any statement regarding this. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police of Basti Bawa Khel police station reached the spot. The factory owner reportedly suffered huge losses in the incident.
There is an abundance of rubber and flammable material in the factory which is causing trouble to fire brigade employees, till now more than 25 fire brigades have arrived at the scene. The blaze is being controlled with water along with fire extinguishing foam. Fire department teams have been continuously tried to control the blaze for hours as per reports.
