There is a long traffic jam on the route from Jalandhar to Phagwara, due to which people are facing a lot of trouble.
This jam near Club Cabana is about 2-kilometre long. The bridge has been closed near Club Cabana, due to which the entire highway is closed. In such a situation, either people can go towards Chandigarh or the traffic is being sent back to Jalandhar from under the bridge.
It is being said that the bridge has been closed due to Nagar Kirtan in Phagwara. People are stuck in the jam and are getting troubled. People said that the administration should have arranged a diversion earlier so that people do not have to face trouble to reach their destinations.
A grand procession is being taken out on the occasion of the Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Jayanti. For huge crowd of devotees, a special traffic plan has been issued by the Jalandhar Commissionerate.
The procession started from Satguru Ravidas Dham Boota Mandi and will reach Boota Mandi again via Guru Ravidas Chowk, Nakodar Chowk, Jyoti Chowk, PNB Chowk, Milap Chowk, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Adda Hoshiarpur, Mai Heera Gate, Patel Chowk, Sabzi Mandi Chowk, Basti Adda Chowk, Nakodar Chowk.
Additionally, vehicles going to and coming from Nakodar-Shahkot should travel via Sutlej Chowk-Samrai Chowk-Cool Road-CT Institute via Pratappur-Nakodar route. Guru Ravidas Chowk-Nakodar Chowk Road will remain closed for all vehicles.

For the convenience of the devotees, the administration has made extensive arrangements for traffic control, medical assistance and security. Additional deployment of policemen has also been done during the Shobha Yatra, so that there is no inconvenience.
A large number of devotees are expected to be present on this holy festival of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji. Devotees are requested to follow the instructions issued by the administration and cooperate in making the event a success.
