Malayalam actor Baburaj is facing allegation of sexual assault. On Monday, a junior artist accused Malayalam actor Baburaj of sexually assaulting her at his home in Aluva in 2019. The junior artist claimed that she had been called to actor Baburaj’s residence on the pretext of discussing a movie.
However, upon her arrival at the Aluva (Ernakulam District) home of actor Baburaj, she only found Baburaj and his assistant present, contrary to his claim that a director, scriptwriter and production controller would also be there.
Actor Baburaj, an office bearer of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artist (AMMA), rejected the allegations by suspecting the vested interest of the film industry behind these allegations. Actor Baburaj, known for his villainous movie roles, claimed that the allegations were an attempt to prevent him from becoming the general secretary of AMMA, replacing Siddique, who had resigned on Sunday amid similar charges.
The Association of Malayalam Movie Artist (AMMA) is in deep turmoil following the sexual assault allegations within the film industry. Actress Shweta Menon has called for Baburaj to step down from his position as acting General Secretary in response to these allegations. Shweta states that anyone facing such accusations, regardless of their seniority, should step aside to maintain the integrity of the organisation.
Shweta Menon also dismissed the assertion that the allegations were a ploy against him. She urged him to reveal who he believes is behind this alleged obstruction, urging for transparency in the matter.
Actor Baburaj has refused allegations of sexual abuse made against him by a junior artist, who claimed he sexually abused her at his home in Aluva in 2019. Baburaj claims that these accusations are being orchestrated by people within the film industry and suggests that the junior artist should publicly reveal her identity if she is truly serious about her claims.
