Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, the newly crowned Miss Universe 2021, has returned to India. As Harnaaz arrived at Mumbai Airport, she was quarantined for seven days amid Omicron scare in several corners
of the world, including India.
On December 15, the beauty queen arrived at Mumbai airport. Kaur looked gorgeous in a red gown with rhinestones.
According to media sources, Harnaaz's samples were taken by the Health Department for a Covid test. The reports will be delivered on the eighth day and further Harnaaz will self-monitor
her health for the next seven days.
She has been quarantined at a seven-star hotel near the airport.
Harnaaz's brother Harnoor revealed that his sister has been quarantined for seven days in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines. There is currently no plan for Harnaaz to visit Chandigarh.
Only after 7 days of quarantine, her next trip would be planned.
The 21 year old Harnaaz Sandhu, 21 won the 70th Miss Universe beauty pageant that took place at Eilat, Israel. Harnaaz has brought the crown back home after 21 years. Before Harnaaz, only
two Indian beauties have clinched the crown – Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.
Stringent covid rules in for international travellers
In response to the threat posed by the Omicron Covid-19 variant, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has said that the Air Suvidha Portal will be modified to compel passengers arriving from 'at
risk' countries or who have visited 'at risk' countries in the previous 14 days to pre-book the RT PCR test.
The guidelines further state that a link to the airport website would be provided on the Air Suvidha platform and displayed to passengers while filling out the self-declaration form.
'At-risk' countries include the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Hong Kong, China, Ghana, Mauritius, New Zealand, and Israel, according to the
Union health ministry.
Notably, Harnaaz has landed in Mumbai from Israel after winning the beauty pageant at Eilat.
All international passengers must submit a 14-day travel history and upload negative Covid test results to the Air Suvidha portal, starting December 1. This test should be taken 72 hours
before the traveller undertake
Furthermore, airlines could only allow passengers to board who have completed the Self Declaration Form on the Air Suvidha portal and uploaded the negative RT-PCR test report.
