Ludhiana, April 1- With an aim to escalate the speed of inoculation drive-by setting up additional vaccination sites near the homes of people especially in rural belt, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Gill constituency Kuldeep Singh Vaid and Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Thursday launched an immunization camp in Pohir village.
Kick-starting the camp by getting the vaccine into his left arm, MLA accompanied by Deputy Commissioner said that with all residents above the age of 45 are now eligible for coronavirus vaccines, the administration is already in mission mode and has organized around 250 vaccination camps including civil hospital, sub-divisional and private institutions, health and wellness centres and we are hoping that people would come in large number to get the shield.
They said that the vaccine is vital to suppress this fresh wave of deadly disease and would help to save precious lives.
Urging the sarpanches and other representatives of local bodies to play a proactive role in busting the myth or misinformation surrounding the vaccine, they said that this is one kind of national duty and people must fulfil it to protect the country and countrymen from the pathogen.
They said that District Administration has been evoking an encouraging response from the people and the numbers of camps have been increased to meet the demand for vaccine among the entitled category.

They emphasized the need for transforming this drive into a mass movement to ensure vaccination of a larger population group in a short span of time.
