'Bangladesh has fallen'; well this is what netizens on social media are labeling the current Bangladesh violent protests ongoing in the country. On Monday, things went out of control after a mob stormed inside Bangladesh's PM Sheikh Hasina's official residence. However, before the mob stormed inside Sheikh Hasina's official residence she reportedly fled from the country in a military chopper. Later, Bangladesh's army chief Waker-uz-Zaman confirmed to a news wire that Sheikh Hasina had resigned as the country's PM. "... interim government to run the country. We will return peace to the country," announced Bangaldesh's Army Chief.
In the meantime, videos of a mob storming inside Sheikh Hasina's official residence are surfacing on social media. Sheikh Hasina's official residence viral clips are spreading like wildfire and people are the world are shell-shocked over the incident. Some even compared the situation when the Taliban stormed inside Afghanistan's Parliament and official residence.
Coming back to the students protest in Bangladesh, apart from Sheikh Hasina, her sister, Sheikh Rehana also left the official residence in Dhaka. A military helicopter took off from the Bangabhaban with Sheikh Hasina at 2:30 p.m. local time, reportedly headed to West Bengal. Furthermore, Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy urged Bangladesh’s security forces to prevent a forceful takeover. "Your duty is to keep our people safe and our country safe and to uphold the constitution," he wrote on Facebook adding, "It means don't allow any unelected government to come in power for one minute, it is your duty."
For the unversed, the clashes broke out on Sunday morning between protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and supporters of the ruling party across various regions of Bangladesh. During the protests, clashes erupted between the police and the students, with security forces firing tear gas shells and stun grenades to disperse the violent mob.
