Italian PM Giorgia Meloni on Saturday shared a selfie video with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on social media. Italy PM Giorgia Meloni's selfie video broke the internet as soon as it was dropped on social media. Giorgia Meloni's selfie video featured PM Modi and the Italian PM's reaction to 'Melodi' meme makers won the internet. Not only this, PM Modi could not control his laughter after the Italian PM Giorgia Meloni addressed the melodi memes. 

In PM Modi-Giorgia Meloni's selfie video, the Italian PM can be heard saying, "Hello from the melodi team." In the video, PM Modi can also be seen waving and laughing at the same time. The Italian PM shared the video with the caption, "Hi friends, from #Melodi" For the unversed, Melodi is an acronym given by netizens which means Meloni & Modi- Melodi. 

Melodi Memes often depict PM Modi's admiration for Italian PM Giorgia Meloni. Notably, some memes go too far and even make jokes that PM Modi and PM Giorgia Meloni like each other. Interestingly, Melodi trend intensified in December 2023 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni along the sidelines of the COP28 summit in Dubai. After their meeting, Meloni took to her X handle and shared a happy selfie with PM Modi. But, what caught everyone's attention was the hashtag that Meloni used. The Italian PM used the hashtag 'Meloni'. As a result, meme makers went berserk, and 'Melodi' became a trending topic in India. 

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi arrived in Italy late Thursday night (local time) to attend the 50th G7 Summit, which is being held from June 13 to 15. This is Modi's first visit to a foreign country after recently assuming office as the PM for the third consecutive term following the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA's victory in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
