After the grand finale of Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024 in Ludhiana, Punjabi singer & actor Diljit Dosanjh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in Delhi. Diljit Dosanjh's meeting with PM Modi came as a surprise as the Born To Shine singer is often perceived as a celebrity who remains at loggerheads with the BJP. Diljit and PM Modi both shared the video of their meeting on social media and the comment section was bombarded with positive and negative opinions.
Meanwhile, after meeting PM Modi, Diljit Dosanjh met another BJP leader. Going by the attire, Diljit Dosanjh met another BJP leader on the same date when he met PM Modi. The name of the BJP leader is Manjinder Sirsa. Manjinder Sirsa took to his Instagram handle and shared a series of pictures of his meeting with Diljit Dosanjh. In one of the pictures, Sirsa was sharing a warm hug with Diljit Dosanjh. Diljit Dosanjh on the other hand met Manjinder Sirsa's family as well.
Manjinder Sirsa is the National Secretary of the BJP. On 1 December 2021, Sirsa resigned from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) citing personal grounds, and joined BJP. Ever since then, Sirsa has been quite active on social media as well as on the political front.
Diljit's meeting with PM Modi
Talking about Diljit's meeting with PM Modi, Prime Minister Modi described the meeting as “very memorable,” sharing a video clip on Instagram. In a post X (formerly Twitter), he wrote. “A great interaction with Diljit Dosanjh! He’s truly multifaceted, blending talent and tradition. We connect over music, culture, and more.”
The conversation covered various topics, including Dosanjh’s music and Modi’s reflections on Indian traditions, including his affection for the Ganga river and respect for mothers. Modi humorously appreciated Diljit for his popularity, drawing a connection to his name, “Dil-jeet,” meaning hearts.” and praised him for his charm and talent.
In response, Diljit expressed his gratitude to PM Modi for his kind words and sharing his own thoughts on Indian culture. “We discussed many things, including music, which is close to both of us. Truly a fantastic start to 2025,” Dosanjh posted on X.
