PM Modi will inaugurate the Katra-Srinagar train service on THIS date; it is set to boost tourism and connectivity

A massive railways project has become a reality for the citizens of India. According to the latest update by the Indian Railways, the much-awaited under-construction train service between Katra and Srinagar is ready to be operated. 

The government of India has announced that train services will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 19, 2025. Following the flag-off, the train will start its journey from the Reasi district of Katra and will reach Srinagar and Baramulla. 

During this journey, the train will pass from the beautiful scenic views of the Pir Panjal Mountain Range. 

According to the information provided by the authorities, the flag-off ceremony will be attended by many key leaders of the Union Territories, including Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. 

PM Modi to visit highest rail bridge 

The schedule of the Prime Minister has revealed that he will be arriving at the Udhampur Army Airport, before reaching the train service, where he will be inspecting the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River. He will be listening to a brief about this new engineering marvel. 

Following this, he will visit the flag-off location and will address a public rally. 

It is to be noted that this train route will help increase local travel between Katra and Kashmir Valley, allowing a boost in the tourism industry as well.
