Prime Minister Narendra is in Punjab for election campaigning and will be addressing rallies in Gurdaspur and Jalandhar today. Yesterday (May 24), the PM had addressed a rally in Patiala, where he talked about the Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantee for farmers, and levied various accusations at the INDI Alliance.
Timings for Gurdaspur and Jalandhar Rally
Today (May 24), the PM will be visiting Gurdaspur first and then will arrive in Jalandhar in the evening. PM Modi will be addressing the public meeting in Gurdaspur at 3:30 PM and later in Jalandhar at 5:30 PM.
In Jalandhar, the PM will be delivering his speech at the PAP Stadium near the Jalandhar’s main PAP Chowk. In light of this, all traffic in Jalandhar has been diverted through certain routes, which you can find here. It is pertinent to note that no traffic will be allowed in the PAP chowk in 2 PM, so commuters will have to take alternate routes to travel to cities like Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Amritsar.
Talking about the Lok Sabha elections 2024, BJP have put their hopes behind Sushil Rinku, who had won the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat in the by elections on an AAP ticket. In Gurdaspur, BJP had secured victory with actor Sunny Deol in the previous elections. However, with Sunny’s exit from politics, BJP have put up Dinesh Singh Babbu. The BJP will be contesting Punjab elections solo for the first time since 1996, having fought in alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) since.
