A woman based in Mohali recently sparked chatter on LinkedIn after she shared WhatsApp chats with her boss and accused him of firing her after she stood up for what was right. The woman took to her LinkedIn handle and accused the firm saying that she was fired for taking Raksha Bandhan's leave and suggesting that deducting a salary of 7 days for just 1 day's leave would not be ethical. Furthermore, the woman called her boss toxic and in a sarcastic manner wrote, 'If anyone wants a toxic boss then only he/she can join...' Below is what the woman wrote-

"Tried to take a stand for what was wrong as per the laws .....But got a Termination letter as a result. He mentioned in the email that he will give 2 weeks of time to me but he revoked all the access so that I can leave immediately..This is my chat with my boss ....and he terminated me because I took a stand and suggested him that we cannot deduct 7 days of salary for 1 day of absence. If anyone wants a toxic boss then only he/she can join..."

After the Mohali woman's post went viral on social media, the company issued a statement on LinkedIn as well. The company wrote, "Only .... was requesting a five-day leave for whole office (including leaves on August 16th and 20th), which would have negatively impacted the workflow. [It is essential to mention that all our clients are US-based].

Considering the situation, we opted for a sandwich policy, which was as per company rules implemented by...... .. The 7-day deduction was discussed with the team and then mutually agreed upon (note that ......, the director, provided a paid leave on August 15th & Half Day with Flexible Hours on Raksha Bandhan ) Mutually agreed by staff members. The conspiracy was created to benefit from the paid-leave policy for her convenience.”

A follow-up question for fellow supporters: Will your company grant leaves from August 14th to 20th, especially if it is a start-up? Regarding her termination, .... was expelled for the following reasons:

She was underperforming on her hiring goals. Failing to fill all required vacancies since last 2 months..During her working hours, she would complete her online courses, impacting her performance in the company...She overused the phone during business hours (she received a verbal warning 3-4 times before receiving her termination)...The budget reports for monthly company expenses were incorrect (the reports suggested that company patty cash was used to purchase personal products). She was warned several times to maintain the accounts correctly. She has to return 10,000 INR upwards.

In good faith, after she attempted to tarnish the CEO's image by revealing personal chats in the company group and posting negative comments on LinkedIn, we gave her two weeks of notice while she was still on probation.

How She Proceeded With Termination: Attempted to damage our reputation with false allegations like harassment, toxic work culture, etc. The director started receiving threatening calls and messages from her, which resulted in revoked access to records and data. On Monday, she threatened .... and the staff by bringing male support and policemen and threatening to file a bogus complaint if she was not paid three months' pay on the spot.

Thankfully, our attorney was present to assist with false allegations. We have taken legal action against her for fabricating false claims. The legal proceedings are under process."
