Deepak Mundi, the sixth shooter who shot dead Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, has been arrested by the police. With the assistance of the Delhi Police and other central organisations, the Punjab Police arrested him. Two of Deepak Mundi's accomplices, Rajinder Joker and Kapil Pandit, have also been arrested. They were all apprehended at the Nepal-West Bengal border.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that this success has been achieved in intelligence based operation. Deepak Mundi was also the shooter of the Bolero module. Rajinder Joker and Kapil Pandit also assisted in providing cover and firearms at the same time.
Six shooters who arrived in a Corolla and a Bolero car killed Moosewala. Out of these, after Bolero car leader shooter Priyavart Fauji, Ankit Sersa, Kashish alias Kuldeep, the police also caught Deepak Mundi. On the other hand, the shooters of the Corolla car, Jagroop Roopa and Manpreet Mannu, were killed by the Punjab Police in an encounter at Bhakna village near Attari, Amritsar.
Lawrence Gang conspired to kill Moosewala which was executed by gangster Goldy Brar sitting in Canada. Lawrence's brother Anmol and nephew Sachin Thapan were also active with Goldy. Sachin Thapan has been detained in Azerbaijan and Anmol in Kenya. Preparations are underway to bring both of them to India.
On May 29, Moosewala was killed in the Jawaharke village of Mansa. In this case, the police has presented a charge sheet against 24 murderers in the Mansa court. It also has details of the shooters Mannu and Roopa killed in the encounter. In this, the gangsters sitting abroad now include Goldie Brar and Lipin Nehra. 166 witnesses have also been listed in this charge sheet at the same time. The police will shortly present a supplement challan following Mundi's arrest.
