Indian national carrier,Air India Announced that they will operate additional flights between India and Canada from 25th October 2020 to 27 th March 2021. These flights are in addition to the existing flights scheduled between India and the Canada.
Booking for these flights has started and according to the Air India, tickets may be purchased through Air India Website, Booking Offices & Authorized Travel Agents.
Earlier, the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava on Tuesday informed that Phase 7 of VBM has been operationalised and 820 international flights have been scheduled from 19 countries to be operated under Phase 7 during the course of this month.
These include mainly flights from among the 16 countries with which India has a bilateral air bubble agreement in place. These flights will reach 24 airports across India, repatriating an estimated 1.5 lakh people.

In a recently held press conference, Hardeep Singh Puri, MoS, I/C, Civil Aviation, informed that Government of India has formalized air bubble arrangements with 16 countries adding countries like Oman, Bhutan on the list alongside earlier done agreements with countries like USA, Canada, France, Germany, among others. The Minister also added that Government is in discussion with Italy, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and others for similar arrangements.
Air Bubble agreement is a bilateral air corridor being established between various countries to ease travel restrictions amidst travel ban imposed by various countries due to coronavirus. Despite the ban, India was among the first few nations to start repatriation drive as early as May to bring back stranded Indians. Soon after, Air Bubbles were established to further ease the travel.
