India on Tuesday recorded 92,605 new COVID-19 cases crossing a mark of 55 lakh. About 75,083 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,053. A total number of people died due to the infection in the country are 88,935, 44,97,868 patients have been cured/discharged with 9,75,861 active cases.
After months of increase in COVID cases, India has reported more recoveries and seen a decline in active cases by 28649. According to Health Ministry data from this morning, 94,612 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours. India reported 92,605 new COVID cases. The total number of active cases stands at 54,00,619, 1,133 deaths taking the fatalities to 86,752. India's recovery rate remains high at 79.67% as more than 4.3 million people have recovered from the infection followed by the US where 4.1 million patients recovered. The fatality rate in India is 1.60 per cent.

# 12 lakh tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. However, more than 90,000 cases have been coming up every day. In September alone 17 lakh cases have been recorded.
# Badly affected COVID states are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh which makes for 60 per cent of all cases in the country. Maharashtra stands highest with 11.88 lakh COVID cases.

# Over 4.2 lakh people have been fined in Uttarakhand for violating Covid-19 norms which include not wearing masks. The state has collected a fine amount of Rs 15 crore said DGP Ashok Kumar.
# Kerala reported 2,910 new COVID cases, while 3,022 patients have recovered.
# Telangana reported 2,166 new COVID fresh cases, taking the tally of active cases to 1.74 lakh. The number of deaths reported on Tuesday was 10.
# Delhi recorded 2,548 new COVID cases on 21 September, taking the tally to 2,49,259.
# On Tuesday, Germany reported a rise in Coronavirus cases by 1,821 to 274,158, data from Robert Koch Institute shows. The death toll rose by 10 to 9,396.
