Kartik Aryan, who recently appeared on the iconic show, ‘Aap Ki Aadalat’, spoke at length over quitting Dostana 2 for the first time. Show host and veteran journalist, Rajat Sharma asked why Karan dropped him from his film. To which, the actor responded, "This happens sometimes. I haven't spoken about this before. I believe in what my mother has taught me and these are my value too... when there's an altercation between two people, the younger one should never speak about it. I follow that and hence I never speak about it."
On the question asked him about the rumours of him leaving the film because of money he added, "This is like Chinese whispers, a make belief story. I have never left a film because of money. I am very greedy, but in terms of script and not money."
Furthermore, on Dostana 2 the actor said, “Pandemic happened, there was a gap of 1.5 years, there were a few pre-planned changes in the script that were supposed to happen, although couldn’t.
His alleged fallout with Karan Johar made huge rounds on social media and on the news for the entire 2021, however, neither of them responded to it.
Initially, when the news about Karthik’s ouster from the movie broke out, KJo’s Dharma Production announced that the team will be recasting Dostana 2 due to “professional circumstances,” however, didn’t reveal the reason and the actor’s name as Karthik Aryan’s possible replacement.
Production house’s statement on it read, "Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence - we will be recasting 'Dostana 2', directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon," the statement from Dharma read.
On the work front, Karthik is gearing up for the release of his other banger, ‘Shehzada’, which will hit the theatres on February 10th alongside Kriti Sanon, which he expects to be as big as his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Karthik is also loaded with a number of other projects, including ‘Aashiqui 3’, ‘Captain India', 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' and Kabir Khan's untitled next.
