Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has been made the Chairman of the new Advisory Committee of the Punjab government. This committee will advise the government on issues of public interest. The newly-appointed Chief Secretary of the state Vijay Kumar Janjua had on July 8 issued a notification for setting up of an 'Advisory Committee on Public Issues'.
According to a notification issued, the committee will have a Chairman and other members. Members of the committee will be able to meet the officers directly. With the formation of this committee, its Chairman Raghav Chadha will be able to hold an official meeting with any senior government official.
Through this committee, the knowledge-sharing agreement between Delhi and the Punjab government will be implemented. The members of this committee will not get any additional salary or allowances.

According to the Punjab government, the reason behind the formation of this committee is that the administrative work of the government will be accelerated. It will look after the government's work regarding the decisions related to public issues and will also recommend improvements wherever needed.
