Member Lok Sabha from Sri Anandpur Sahib and former Union Minister Manish Tewari has written a letter to the Union Government in view of the recurring Corona epidemic cases under the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) under PM Care Fund.
He appealed for setting up of a field hospital in his constituency. In addition, he demanded oxygen plants for civil hospitals in Ropar and Nawanshahr.
MP Tewari in his letter addressed to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan Singh has mentioned the need of a field hospital in his constituency as it caters most of the rural villages.
Further he said that his Lok Sabha constituency falls in four districts of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Rupnagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Hoshiarpur, which comprises 1800 villages, small towns and cities.
MP Tewari said he had learned that DRDO was setting up field hospitals in different parts of the country under the PM Care Fund to deal with the acute epidemic of corona and hospitals with a range of 250 to 1000 beds are being built.
He emphasized that the Corona crisis was now spreading to the rural areas of the country, which was difficult to predict.
The Punjab Government and the district administration would be more than happy to provide the required space for this hospital.
Besides, the Member Lok Sabha in a letter to the Union Health Minister has also requested for setting up of one oxygen plant each in the civil hospitals of Ropar and Nawanshahr.
