In a shocking development, at least 30 vehicles reportedly collided due to dense fog in Punjab on Monday morning. The multi-vehicle collision took place within a 13 km area of the Amritsar-Delhi National Highway due to low visibility. As per reports, these accidents happened in different places. While one youth died in the accident, 6 people have been seriously injured. The injured people have been admitted to Khanna Civil Hospital.
As per the information received, there was dense fog in the morning. Visibility was very low. Due to this, vehicles collided at many places in an area of about 13 kilometers from the SSP office in Khanna to Bija in Ludhiana.
In the accidents on the National Highway, 3 to 4 buses, trucks, trolleys, and even cars collided with each other. People traveling in the buses suffered minor injuries as well. The number of cars involved in these accidents is high. Multiple photos have surfaced from the Khana multi-vehicle collision site and going by the pictures it can be said that the mishap was indeed serious.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on Monday took to his official X handle and informed that he has asked the district administration to help the injured in their medical checkup. CM Mann also stated that he is in touch with the local administration.
