Mumbai: It appears that vaccine scammers have gone for a ride Bollywood music producer Ramesh Taurani, who heads Tips Industries Limited, days after over 300 residents of a Mumbai housing society were allegedly given fake COVID-19 vaccines. On May 30 and June 3, the renowned music producer claimed to have immunised 365 of his staff, but they have yet to get their vaccination certificates.

Tips employees cheated in vaccine scam?
Ramesh Taurani, speaking on the subject, said, "Yes, we are still waiting for certificates, and when my office contacted him (SP Events' Sanjay Gupta), he claimed it would arrive by this Saturday (June 12). We vaccinated 356 persons for Rs 1,200 each dosage plus GST. But, more than the money, we're concerned about what we've been given. Is it Covishield or any saline water?”

The Tips head went on to say that the beneficiaries would receive their immunisation certificates from Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. However, the employees have been waiting for their immunisation certificates for so long that they are beginning to suspect that they have been duped.

Previously, approximately 390 inhabitants of housing societies in Kandivli, Mumbai, said they had been cheated in a vaccine scam. The police apprehended four people in connection with the alleged vaccination scam after receiving a complaint from the society's residents welfare association (RWA).

Residents of the organisation said that after being jabbed, none of them experienced any vaccine-related ill effects, and that they acquired immunisation certificates from several hospitals. The police are questioning the four suspects who have been detained in connection with the case.

What Mumbai Police said
Following Taurani's assertion that he may have been scammed by vaccination scammers, the Mumbai Police said in a statement that the suspects in the prior case are also being questioned about this case.
