Mumbai : Sextortion case has been reported in Maharashtra, in which a man from Pune blackmailed a young Mumbai girl and demanded money. According to reports, the 23-year-old man was arrested after threatening to make the teen's obscene video viral if his demands were not met.
The man reportedly ordered the youngster to strip over a video call, recorded her, and exploited the video clip for sextortion, according to a leading news channel. A case has been filed under the strict Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act by the police.Fearing the repercussions, the 17-year-old girl stole money and jewels from her family and sold them to meet his financial demands. The crime was discovered after the victim's mother discovered that valuables had vanished from the residence.The lady then questioned her daughter about the situation, and the adolescent confessed the truth.The victim of the fraud is a class XII student from Mumbai's Malad locality.

The teen befriended an unknown male on Instagram earlier this year, and the two began chatting on a daily basis. Between May and June, the guy, described as Sanjay Ohal, would also make video calls to her. According to the complaint, the accused once urged her to undress during a video conversation.
The girl was taken aback by his demand and denied, prompting him to become enraged and show her a knife during the video conversation. If she would not agree with his demands, the man threatened to cut his wrists and end his life in front of her.
Because she was afraid of the repercussions, the girl agreed to do anything he requested. Over the video call, the girl proceeded to undress, and Ohal utilised the screen recording software to capture her naked. He later emailed her the video footage and requested for money if she didn't want it to become popular on the internet. The girl was nervous, and she considered stealing things from her home to make ends meet.
According to the report, the adolescent took jewellery from her mother's cabinet and sold it for Rs 10,000. Sanjay Ohal recognised he could extort more money after she handed him the money and kept asking her for more. The girl allegedly continued to steal from her house and paid him a total of Rs 58000.
