A 46-year-old man from Maharashtra was sentenced to five years jail terms for sexually assaulting his 7-year-old with a differently abled daughter.
A special POCSO court on Thursday also imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 of which Rs 8,000 will go as compensation to the victim.
Owing to her health conditions, the victim could not be deposed in court. However, a special prosecutor Geeta Sharma called to take the evidence of her mother and aunt who were the prime witness to the heinous crime.

The victim's mother told the court that in 2018 she had left her husband and moved to Palghar with her daughter, realising that her husband wasn't attached to her.
Later, he started visiting her in Palghar and demanded to transfer her property to his name.
When he continued repeating it, the woman confided with the employer he works as a house help. An NGO finally came forward to help the woman to register a case against her husband.

The accused was caught and since June 8, 2018, has been behind the bars.
