Information regarding curfew imposed in Mumbai is being surfaced on various platforms. It is being stated that Mumbai Police has taken decision to impose curfew in Mumbai from December 4 to January 2.
After speaking to a reporter based in Mumbai, TrueScoop has received the information that not curfew but Section 144 has been imposed in the city. The reported further added that this Section 144 is also imposed in certain areas.
Section 144 has been imposed in some areas of Mumbai from 4th December 2022 to 2nd January 2023 as a precautionary measure. It is being claimed that certain reports of disruption have come up that can pose a serious threat to human due to which this decision was taken by Police. Through a press release they have informed that no public gathering of more than 5 people will be allowed and if anyone does not follow order, strict action will be taken.
Reportedly, the orders released by Mumbai Police regarding Section 144 will come into effect from December 4, 2022 to 2nd January 2023. During this the gathering of more than five people is restricted. Also, any kind of demonstrations, protests, or sloganeering will also not be allowed. Furthermore, Vishal Thakur Deputy Commissioner of the Mission Department of Mumbai Police stated that a ban will also be imposed on any kind of parties, gatherings, processions, etc.
The residents of Mumbai are also restricted from playing loud music, bands, etc. Functions like wedding, funeral, meetings, etc will also not be allowed. A ban on usage of arms have also been brought under the restrictions of curfew.
