Days after filing FIR against Bollywood film-maker Anurag Kashyap, the Mumbai Police on Wednesday finally summoned him. Going by the reports of ANI, Anurag Kashyap has been summoned by the Mumbai Police at the Versova Police Station on Thursday at 11 am in connection with the alleged sexual assault against actor Payal Ghosh.
On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap's lawyer Priyanka Khimani said, "My client, Anurag Kashyap, has been deeply pained by the false allegations of sexual misconduct that have recently surfaced against him. These allegations are completely false, malicious, and dishonest."
Recently, Payal met Union Minister Ramdas Athawale and Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari and asked them to intervene as the Mumbai Police miss-treated her and didn't even summon the film-maker.
When the FIR was lodged, Payal Ghosh's lawyer Nitin Satpute's statement reads: "Finally FIR has been lodged against Accused for the offence Rape, Wrongful Restrain, Wrongful Confinement and outraging modesty of woman U/S 376(1), 354, 341, 342 of IPC, @iampayalghosh."
