In June 2024, a gross incident came to the fore when a doctor from Mumbai shared a picture of an ice cream that was served to him containing a chopped human finger inside it. Dr. Brendan Serrao asked his sister to include some ice cream in her online grocery purchase list. When the yummy cones of Yummo ice cream were delivered, he started savouring the treat but felt something rough and strange in his mouth. The doctor alleged that when he puked it out, to his horror he found that it was a small piece of a severed human finger, around 2 cm long. After this, Dr. Serrao immediately lodged a complaint with the Malad Police Station, which started a probe and even sent the finger for a forensic analysis.

Now, the forensics analysis has been completed and the Mumbai Police have joined the dots. Now, the question arises how a decapitated finger was present inside an ice cream and whom did it belong to? Below is what you should know-

As per reports, the piece of finger found in an ice cream cone belonged to an employee of an ice cream factory in Indapur in Pune, as per DNA tests conducted during the probe. As per reports, the Forensic Sciences Laboratory report revealed the DNA found on the fingertip and that of ice cream factory employee Omkar Pote were the same.

An official in the known development was quoted saying, "A part of Pote's middle finger was cut during the process of filling ice cream at the Indapur factory. It was later found in the ice cream cone ordered by a Malad-based doctor who alerted authorities."

Notably, the finger was found in a butterscotch cone of the Yummo brand.
