Nalagarh student killed during PU star night; DSW hides in bathroom as protest erupts

During the concert of Haryana singer Masoom Sharma organized by AVVP at PU's UIET on Friday, some outsiders stabbed to death a PU student who had come to watch the show. The deceased has been identified as Aditya Thakur, a resident of Nalagarh and a CSE student in the 2nd year of computer engineering. Twenty-two-year-old Aditya Thakur was originally from Nalagarh and these days lives in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Father Parveen Thakur works in Nalagarh. 

Police investigation report

According to police, Aditya Thakur, who was among four students stabbed, succumbed to his injuries at the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here on Saturday. Police conducted a post-mortem, and the body was handed over to the family members.

In this case, Sector-11 police station has registered a case against unknown attackers under sections 115(2), 126(2), 351(2), 109, 191(2), 191(3), and 190 of BNS on the complaint of deceased Aditya's friend Arjun Dalal, resident of Sector-19. Police have identified the attackers on the basis of the video, and they are said to be outside. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused

Huge student protests have erupted on the campus with loud slogans of “Aditya hum shatminda hain, tere kaatil zinda hain.” (Aditya, we are ashamed that your assassins are alive). Loud hails of "PU administration, Murdabaad" were also raised at the campus. Students expressed their aggression over the safety concerns, questioning the university authorities.

He blamed Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Amit Chauhan and Chief Security Officer Vikram Singh for all this incident. They said that when permission for Star Night was taken according to 6000 students, then how could 9000 people reach the event? There were thousands of outsiders among them. Angry students surrounded the office of Chauhan, who was meeting with the wardens after Stent's murder. The nameplate outside Chauhan's office was removed, and 'Murderer DSW' was written there. Chauhan saved his life by hiding in the bathroom.
