The Jet Airways founder and Chairman Naresh Goyal and his wife Anita Goyal have stepped down from their position after the board meeting held on Monday.
The all-important board meeting of Jet Airways was held on Monday to decide the future of the debt-ridden airline company and decided on how the interim funding could be procured and how the company will move forward re-defining the role of the founder Naresh Goyal.
"It was an emergency Board meet called to decide upon the interim funding. The role of Naresh Goyal is also one of the main agenda of the meeting. SBI Bankers have also demanded the exit of the founder," said one of the airline sources.
The airline company is currently under a debt of Rs 8000 crore and needs some crucial funding to get going and survive in the business.

Also, some new sources have reported that the Jet Airways' pilots are now being interviewed by various airline companies such as SpiceJet and Indigo. Along with pilots, other full-service crew is also said to be appearing for interviews in other airline companies.
As per the news sources, the airline staff including the pilots, crew and engineers have been working without being paid from January this year.
