The Union Ministry of Education, Department of School Education and Literacy on Wednesday released the list of teachers which would be awarded by the National Awards of 2021. These 44 selected teachers would be awarded by President Ram Nath Kovind on Teacher’s Day 2021.
Among these 44 teachers, nine are women and two each are from states – Maharashtra, Telangana, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Gujarat, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

A teacher from Eklavya model residential school, Karpawand, Bastar, Chhattisgarh is selected and among the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated schools, two teachers have made to the list from Delhi's Bal Bharati Public School Dwarka and Rajasthan's Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Jhunjhunu.
National Award is celebrated to honor the contribution of some finest teachers in the country and the awards also appreciate not only those teachers who have improved the quality of school education but also enriched the lives of their students.
The teachers were asked to self-nominate themselves between June 1 and July 10 and the jury (experts from State level Selection Committee/Central Award Committee) selected 44 teachers through video conferencing or physical interaction on August 10.
