National Youth Day also known as Vivekananda Jayanti is celebrated
every year on January 12 on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. This day was
declared by the Government of India in 1984 and since 1985 it began to be
celebrated as National Youth Day.
The Government of India quoted that ‘the philosophy of
Swamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of
inspiration for the Indian Youth Day.’
Swami Vivekananda has given us many life lessons. His writings,
speeches and quotes are great source of knowledge for us. On the occasion of
Swamiji’s birthday let us remember him with his some of the great quotes
regarding life:
“The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have
faith in yourselves.”
“The greatest sin is to think yourself weak.”
“Take risks in your life. If you win, you can lead, if you
lose, you can guide.”
“Talk to yourself once in a day, otherwise you may miss
meeting an intelligent person in this
world.”
“The reason for every misunderstanding is that we see the
people as we are but not as they are.”
“In a day, when you don’t come across any problems you can
be sure that you are travelling in a wrong path.”
“Be the servant while leading. Be unselfish. Have infinite
Patience, and success is yours.”
“Experience is the only teacher we have. We may talk and reason
all our lives, but we shall not understand a word of truth until we experience
it ourselves.”
“Stand up, be bold, and take
the blame on your own shoulders. Do not go about throwing mud at other; for all
the faults you suffer from, you are the sole and only cause.”
