On Thursday, the India men’s hockey team defeated Germany 5-4 in a bronze medal match, ending 41-year-old wait for an Olympics medal. The last time, Indian hockey team bagged the (Gold) medal was in Moscow Olympics in 1980. India played an excellent game against the Germans and made a thrilling comeback to script history.
Many people appreciated the team India team but one more person was equally appreciated for his contribution towards hockey. The netizens are thanking Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for constantly supporting the men’s and women’s hockey teams.
Naveen Patnaik on August 2 said that residents of Odisha are proud of their state government as it is helping India's men’s and women’s hockey teams since 2014. Reportedly, the Odisha government has invested nearly Rs 150 crore and has sponsored both hockey teams since 2018.
After the victory of team India over Germany on Thursday, Naveen Patnaik has appreciated once again.
