Punjab Congress President Navjot Sidhu has bluntly told Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to outrightly cancel the power agreement i.e. Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Punjab. The Captain had asked Powercom to review all power agreements late on Wednesday evening. On the decision of the Captain, Sidhu said that his efforts to become the watchmen of Punjab have started bearing fruit. The new President of PPCC was accompanied by MLA Pargat Singh.
Sidhu also praised the power model of Arvind Kejriwal government of Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. Sidhu said that the Punjab government gives subsidies of 10 thousand crores to farmers, backward class, BPL families etc. In contrast, Delhi only gives a subsidy of Rs 1700 crore. Industrial and commercial electricity in Punjab is cheaper than Delhi. Punjab is also providing employment to the people through Powercom. If there is no electricity generation in Delhi, then there is no employment. It is evident that the domestic consumer in Punjab is suffering due to costly electricity. He however did not answer any questions.

On the agricultural reform laws of the central government, Sidhu said that they are illegal and unconstitutional. Agriculture is a state subject, under the guise of commerce and trade, the rights of the state government have been robbed. Sidhu gestured to the Captain not to make amendments in the agricultural law, but to reject them outright by taking a stand like the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal dispute. He said that he had met the Chief Minister after becoming the President of the PPCC and handed over a letter asking the Chief Minister to take immediate action on the five points out of 18 points of the high command. In a gesture to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Sidhu said that ability is not measured by whether you have tried, but by whether the work is done or not. It is being directly linked to the statement of the Captain about the commencement of work on the points of the High Command. Sidhu also said that 18 points of the Congress high command will remain in force or will have to be implemented.
