After assuming office at Chandigarh on Friday, new Congress State President Navjot Singh Sidhu visited the injured Congress workers, who were referred to DMC Ludhiana after the bus accident near Moga. He was accompanied by cabinet minister Trpt Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, MLA Kulbir Singh Zira, Varindermeet Singh Pahra, Inderbir Singh Bularia, and Davinder Singh Ghubaya. Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma a,d CP Rakesh Aggarwal were also present on the occasion.
Sidhu took details of the treatment being given to injured Rachpal Singh from the medical staff of the hospital. He also consol the son of injured Rachpal Singh by hugging him and assuring him that his father would be alright shortly.
While announcing financial assistance of Rs 5 Lakh to the kin of Congress workers killed in today’s accident and Rs 50,000 to the injured for the treatment, new Congress President said workers are the backbone of Congress party and the party would do every bit to stand by them at the time of crisis.
Later, team Sidhu visited the civil hospital in Moga, where over dozen injured Congress workers are undergoing medical treatment after the bus accident. Sidhu has passed on the necessary directions to the medical staff and wished all the injured a speedy recovery.

Notably, five persons were killed and over 15 were
seriously injured when a bus with Congress workers on board, collided head-on
with a passenger bus near Janer village in Moga. These Congress workers were
heading to Chandigarh to attend the installation ceremony of the new PPCC team,
headed by Navjot Singh Sidhu. All the leaders and workers present in the
coronation function, stand for few minutes to pay their respect to the victims
and it was decided by Sidhu that he will personally visit the injured in the
hospitals after the function. Meanwhile, Sidhu and other party leaders heading
for Zira where they will meet the families of the victims and share their
grief with the aggrieved families. The entire Sidhu team was on the way to Zira
till the filing of this report.
